Permit to Carry

Minnesota Permit to Carry (PTC) qualification

Learn online first, show what you know, then finish with a live range qualification. The in-person range session is required.

The process

Three steps to qualification

  1. Watch the course videos

Watch the Primary PTC Course Video below, then the supplemental YouTube playlist selected as training material for this course.

  2. Study, then take the test

Download the study guide and full course material, then complete the Minnesota Permit to Carry test. The 27-question quiz requires 80% to pass. The test is not meant to cause stress or deter you; it exists for course integrity and to make you more knowledgeable of material you only need once every 5 years.

  3. Arrange your live range qualification

After the test, contact Matt for the required in-person qualification. It includes tips and pointers to build a foundation for future self training, or training with us.
